Students from Holy Savior Academy, South Plainfield, visited McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, Tuesday Dec. 17, to ring bells and sing Christmas songs for the Sisters of Mercy residents.
Under the direction of Daniel Mahoney, Holy Savior Academy's music teacher, the students rang "Carol of the Bells," "Parade of Tin Soldiers," and "Chatter with the Angels" among other selections. Among the songs performed by the school's choir "Christmas in Killarney" and "Were You There on That Christmas Night?" The visit ended with everyone singing "Silent Night."
"To give back to the Sisters who have served our community schools for so many years was more a gift to us," said Principal Melinda Hanlon, who accompanied the students to McAuley Hall.
