Man Wanted For Tricking Local Into Cashing Fake Check In N. Plainfield: Police

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Do you know this man? North Plainfield Police are trying to identify him after he convinced a resident to cash a fake check, police say.

The man is suspected of conducting a Theft by Deception at a Wells Fargo bank in the borough.

"We are recommending to residents that if an unknown person asks you to cash a check, please use your better judgement and advise them to go to a bank," North Plainfield Police posted.
