Memorial Service for Gerald Mobus Set for Watchung Hills Regional

It seems only one place in the area is big enough for the memories of Gerald Mobus: his beloved high school.

Mobus spent years helping develop Watchung Hills Regional High School and as an announcer at sporting events, and now the school will host a memorial service for him, at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Performing Arts Center. 

The announcement of the memorial service follows details on funeral services for Watchung's mayor, who died from a heart attack Sunday morning.

Visitation will be held at Higgins Home for Funerals from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a private burial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a scholarship fund for a deserving college-bound senior from Watchung Hills—checks should be made out to: Watchung Community Foundation, with a notation for the “Gerald M. Mobus Scholarship Fund.”
