Dogland takes readers through Skole’s journey of discovery after adopting an eight week old puppy from a New Jersey rescue organization. In researching her book, “Dogland,” Jacki interviewed dozens of people involved in animal rescue, from shelter managers to animal rights activists.
Did you ever wonder why so many Jersey residents live with Southern dogs? The answer is more complex than you might think. And how do you know if an animal rescue is working in the best interests of its dogs? Also, why do we grieve the loss of a dog as strongly as we do the loss of a human loved one? Answers to these questions and more will be discussed at her presentation and book signing.
