One Killed When Car Struck Salt Truck On I-78
Police said the car, driven by James Kim of Douglaston, N.Y., failed to slow down when it headed toward the salt truck.

One person was killed when a car struck the rear of a salt truck on Interstate 78 eastbound on Sunday, police said.
Police said the car, driven by James Kim of Douglaston, N.Y., failed to slow down when it headed toward the salt truck in the center lane at 7:20 a.m, police said.
The Toyota Avalon hit the truck, sending it spinning into the center lane facing north. A passenger in the front seat of the Toyota Avalon died after the victim was ejected from the car, according to mycentraljersey.com.

The driver of the salt truck, Anthony Festa of Flanders, suffered an injured shoulder and was treated and released from a local hospital, according to mycentraljersey.com. Kim and Won Lee, of Palisades Park were transported to Morristown University Hospital where they were in stable condition on Sunday, police said.
