North Plainfield, NJ - A friendship in Somerset County has paid off. I mean really paid off.
More than $800,000 paid off.
Mohammed Tariq lived in an apartment he rented above Herb’s Liquor at 194 Somerset Street in North Plainfield for years.

Tariq and the store owner Girish Patidar became friends as Tariq would visit the store regularly to play his favorite game, Jersey Cash 5.
Even after Tariq moved to another apartment, he continued to visit Herb's Liquor to buy lottery tickets.

He played the same numbers for about three months on the Jersey Cash 5 until he realized he was one of two winners of the $857,650 jackpot from the June 25 drawing.
Not only did Tariq luck out but Patidar also received a $2,000 bonus for selling that Jersey Cash 5 jackpot winning ticket - making them both lucky lottery winners.
“First of all, I am going to buy a house and not rent any more…and keep on working,” Mohammed stated in a release.
