Suspicious Graffiti Sprayed in Watchung Walkway
Graffiti that looks similar to the NJ branch of the international street gang "La Mara Salvatrucha," or "MS-13," was seen in Watchung.
WATCHUNG, NJ — Graffiti was spotted in Watchung by a Patch reporter displaying crowns and what appears to be the lettering "MS-13."
The graffiti appears to match the New Jersey branch of the international street gang “La Mara Salvatrucha,” or “MS-13" logos.

The graffiti was seen by a Patch reporter off East Drive in Watchung behind the Avalon Watchung apartment complex. It was located off the cul-de-sac on the walkway leading over to the Watchung Square Mall complex.

A police report was made with Watchung Police.
"Thank you for alerting us to this," Watchung Police Chief Joseph Cina wrote to Patch. "We have passed this information along to other agencies and intelligence units to keep on file and to determine if it can be linked to groups or individuals in our area."
