Increased Police Presence On NJ Transit This Saturday Due To Training Exercise

Newark, NJ -- Taking the train this weekend?

Be prepared to see an increased presence of police and emergency personnel throughout Newark Penn Station.

The NJ Transit Police Department (NJTPD) Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will conduct a training exercise on Saturday, May 21 beginning at 8 a.m. to gauge responses to a simulated transportation incident.

The drill will take about four hours to complete.

Light rail customers will be accommodated on Platforms 4 and 5 only. Regular operations will resume on additional platforms at the completion of the drill, NJ Transit announced.
