Two Arrested, One Still At Large For Fatal Shooting Of Plainfield Woman: Prosecutor

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Raequan Segers of Plainfield who is wanted for murder: prosecutor

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Two men were arrested and one is still on the loose for the murder of a Plainfield woman earlier this year, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Thursday.

Plainfield residents Gquan Johnson, 18, Raequan Segers, 19, and Anthony Baines, 22, all are charged with first-degree murder and two related weapons offenses in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Neelega Perry.

Johnson and Baines were arrested during recent weeks, with bail set at $1.5 million apiece, while Segers remains at large.

Perry's body was found in the rear yard of a home on the 400 block of Spruce Street in Plainfield late on Wednesday, June 29. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson, Segers and Baines were identified as the suspects in the case following an investigation involving the Prosecutor’s Office’s Homicide Task Force, Plainfield Police Division, Union County Sheriff’s Office Identification Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.

Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in determining the whereabouts of Segers. Anyone with information is being urged to contact Homicide Task Force Sgt. Michael Manochio at 908-966- 2287 or Detective Christopher Scuorzo at 908-472- 0492.

The Union County Crime Stoppers also are continuing to offer a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case; tips can be given anonymously by phone at 908-654- TIPS (8477), via text message by texting “UCTIP” plus a message to 274637 (CRIMES), or online at www.uctip.org.
