Democratic candidate Daryl Eisenberg Knegten raised questions about the event but noted she will still be attending.
āIām willing to be wherever my neighbors are to answer questions and hear about whatās important to them in making a better Watchung ā so Iāll be there, regardless of the fact that this is clearly an event organized by a vocal supporter of the incumbent candidates in a venue that publicly supports the incumbent candidates,ā Knegten said.
At least four of the Board of Education candidates will be in attendance along with town council candidates. Liz Claman, an anchor of the Fox Business Network show, will be moderating the event. There will also be an open question and answer session.
In Watchung, there is a contested race for the Mayor's spot with Democrat Keith Balla and Republican Stephen Black vying for the four-year seat.
There are also two three-year seats up for grabs on the borough council with Democrats Lindsay Goodloe and Daryl Eisenberg Knegten and Republicans David Mobus and Maria Alberto running.
Refreshments will be served. To RSVP to the event email watchungtownhall@gmail.com.
