Watchung, Green Brook Election Guide 2017
Both local and county races are contested this year in Green Brook.

WATCHUNG-GREEN BROOK, NJ ā Tuesday is Election Day. We have compiled a list of all of the candidates running on the local and county level and also a list of polling locations.
Locally there is a contested race in Green Brook. Watchung is not contested.

In Watchung there are two candidates vying for two three-year seats on the borough council.
Both candidates are republican incumbents Stephen Black and Robert Gibbs, who are running for another term.

Green Brook:
In Green Brook, there are four candidates vying for two three-year seats on the township committee.
Republican incumbent James Benscoter is running for another term. Newcomers include republican Francis Gaffney and democrats David C. Breen Jr. and Bryan Murdock.
Board of Education:
For the Green Brook Township School District there is an uncontested race with three candidates vying for three three-year seats.
Candidates include Darlene Connors, John Brault and Jason Ash.
For Watchung Hills Regional High School District, Peter B. Fallon is the only candidate running for the one three-year seat for Warren Township.
There are two candidates running for the one three-year seat for Watchung Borough including Sondra Fechtner and Freddie Hayeck.
Somerset County:
On the county level, both the freeholder and clerk races are contested.
There are four candidates vying for two three-year term seats for freeholder.
Republican Brian D. Levine of Somerset is the only incumbent running for re-election. Newcomers include republican Brian Gallagher of Somerville and democrats Alex Avellan of Basking Ridge and Shanel Robinson of Somerset.
There are two candidates vying for one five-year term as county clerk. Incumbent republican Brett A. Radi of Somerville is running for re-election against newcomer democrat Steve Peter of Somerville.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In Watchung Township, here are the voting locations and district:
- Districts 1 and 4: Fireman's Exempt Hall
- District 3: Bayberry School
- Districts 2 and 5: Wilson Memorial Church
In Green Brook Township, here are the voting locations and district:
- District 1, 3, 4, 6: Green Brook Middle School, Jefferson Ave.
- District 2, 5: Firehouse no. 2, Rock Road West
