Watchung-Green Brook Election Results 2017
Breaking: Republicans remain in charged in Watchung and Green Brook.

WATCHUNG/GREEN BROOK, NJ ā Locally there was a contested race in Green Brook. Watchung is not contested.
Here are the unofficial results of the 2017 Watchung Council, Green Brook Township Committee, Board of Education elections and county races.

In Watchung, republicans also remained in charged taking the two three-year seats on the borough council.
Republican incumbents Stephen Black received 1,174 votes and Robert Gibbs got 1,119 votes. Both ran unopposed.

Green Brook:
In Green Brook, Republicans remain in charge, where there were four candidates vying for two three-year seats on the township committee.
Republican incumbent James Benscoter received 1,045 votes along with republican Francis Gaffney with 1,050 votes to win over democrats David C. Breen Jr. with 823 votes and Bryan Murdock with 813 votes.
Board of Education:
For the Green Brook Township School District there was an uncontested race with three candidates vying for three three-year seats.
Candidates Darlene Connors received 1,034 votes, John Brault got 745 votes and Jason Ash with 730 votes.
For the Watchung Board of Education it was an unopposed race for the three three-yer seats open. Ellyn Margulies received 854 votes, Tina Kelly got 865 votes and Joseph Mattiassi got 646 votes.
For Watchung Hills Regional High School District, Peter B. Fallon received 2,610 votes. He was the only candidate running for the one three-year seat for Warren Township.
For the one three-year seat for Watchung Borough, Freddie Hayeck won with 733 votes over Sondra Fechtner with 620 votes.
Results are unofficial until certified by the Somerset County Clerk and do not include absentee ballots.
