Watchung Police Arrest 9 For DWI, Shoplifting and More

Watchung Police arrested a man for DWI after driving his car off the road: blotter

Watchung, NJ - Nine people were arrested by Watchung Police for various incidents including DWI, shoplifting and more.

  • Watchung Police Blotter:

On June 17 at 11:14 a.m.: A service station attendant from Shell gas station on Somerset Street near the Watchung Traffic Circle reported a white female driving a gray Subaru wagon drove off after $31 worth of gas was pumped into her car. Police are investigating.

On June 17 at 12:53 p.m.: Myra Ledesma, 60, of Melrose Avenue of North Arlington was arrested for two active warrants both for contempt of court for $500 and $250. She was transported to Watchung Police Department for procession then Somerset County Jail with a new court date.

On June 16 at 3:54 p.m.: Tomas Palacios, 43, of Park Avenue, Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting from Sears. Palacios took a pair of sunglasses and a flashlight from the shelf, went into the bathroom and put the items in his front right pocket. Palacios then attempted to exit the store without paying. A Loss Prevention employee stopped Palacios and he was arrested.

On June 17 at 11:25 p.m.: Rosimeire F. Abutrabe, 47, of North Avenue in Elizabeth was arrested at New Providence Police Headquarters on an outstanding warrant from Watchung for $1,000. She was transported to Somerset County Jail to await her appearance in Watchung Municipal Court.

On June 14 at 5:49 p.m.: Laura Wood, 27, of Kemball Avenue in Staten Island, NY was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart. Wood entered Walmart, took multiple vitamins, hair products and clothing and hid them in her purse in the shopping cart. She tried to leave the store without paying and was stopped by a Loss Prevention officer. She was arrested and transported to Watchung Police Headquarters.

On June 15 at 11 a.m.: Breanna Martinrennie, 19, of Kenyon Avenue in Plainfield was arrested for having an outstanding warrant out of Carteret for $250. She was released on her own recognizance with a new court date.

On June 15 at 10:31 a.m.: Venzell Exum, 64, of South Burnet Street in East Orange was arrested for having an outstanding warrant out of New Gretna for $450. He was released on his own recognizance with a new court date.

On June 15 at 11:54 a.m.: Linus Egesionu, 52 of Sunny Slope Road in Bridgewater was arrested for having an outstanding warrant out of Plainfield for $250. He was released after posting bail.

On June 14 at 12:43 a.m.: Edward Markham, 40, of Chestnut Hill Drive in Murray Hill was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, DWI within 1,000 feet of a school zone, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane after driving his car off the road and disabling it in the roadway.

On June 14 at 11:51 a.m.: Miguel Capellan-Gonzales, 36, of Randolph Road in Plainfield was arrested for having an outstanding warrant out of Watchung for $750. He was released after posting bail.
