UPDATE: Hillcrest Road Reopened Following Water Main Break
Hillcrest Road has been reopened as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.
WATCHUNG, NJ — Hillcrest Road is now open after a water main broke in Watchung Tuesday.
As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, police announced the road finally reopened and repairs by American Water were complete.
The main broke just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jason Hutchings a passing driver reported. The road remained closed through Wednesday morning for repairs.

During the closure, traffic was diverted off the road. Hillcrest Road is a main corridor and a country road used by commuters as it connects Route 78 and the Watchung circle.
