24th Street Theatre Presents 'Walking the Tightrope' at William Paterson University Nov. 18
"Walking the Tightrope" is a sweet and funny play about a grandfather trying to tell his 5-year-old granddaughter that her grandma is gone.

24th Street Theatre will present “Walking the Tightrope,” winner of The L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for best production, at William Paterson University in Wayne on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The performances are directed to school groups and will take place at the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus.

“Walking the Tightrope” is a sweet and funny play about a grandfather who is trying to tell his five-year-old granddaughter that his wife (her grandma) is gone. During the process, he builds a beautiful new relationship with her. With the help of a clown, they discover the true meaning of family. Sophisticated video, sound design and original music transport audiences from Grandpa’s quaint 1959 English seaside cottage to the spectacular big top of the circus.

This 24th Street Theatre production has been awarded three L.A. Drama Critics Awards, three L.A. Weekly Awards; and been named one of KCRW’s The Year’s Best in Los Angeles theatre, and one of Best in Los Angeles Theatre 2013 in Stage and Cinema. It was also nominated for seven Ovation Awards.
