DeAngelo said that the family's medical bills have been mounting and is seeking $50,000 to help the family deal with the finance burden. More than $26,000 has been donated to date.

O'Brien, a Wayne Hills alumnus, underwent a five-hour surgery a few weeks ago to alleviate symptoms of one of the two tumors in his brain, DeAngelo said. He was moved to a rehabilitation center in Morristown a few days ago.
