8 New Coronavirus Cases In Wayne Township
In his Wednesday update, Mayor Christopher Vergano reported no new deaths, but eight new cases of the coronavirus.
WAYNE, NJ — In his Wednesday update, Mayor Christopher Vergano reported no new coronavirus deaths, but eight new cases.
The eight cases bring the township total to 1,495, while the number of deaths remained at 194 residents.

- 23-year-old woman

- 17-year-old boy
- 89-year-old man
- 74-year-old man
These updated totals come as the state and other entities continue to work through coronavirus protocols and response for the near future.

The coronavirus response from the mayor and police department was questioned recently by a member of the Board of Education, who was speaking as a public citizen at a town council meeting.
Comments by Dawn Kumar ruffled the feathers of the mayor and police chief, who felt that the criticism was unfair. Kumar responded to say that the department and mayor aren't above criticism and doubled down, stating that the response could be taken more seriously.
