Passaic County Community College

The Passaic County Office of Solid Waste &amp; Recycling Programs will be holding its next Confidential Document Shredding &amp; Recycling Program in the parking lot of Passaic County Community College (PCCC) located at 500 Union Avenue, Wanaque (Haskell) on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 8 am to 12 pm, rain or shine. This program is free of charge to Passaic County residents, who may bring up to 4 “banker’s boxes” worth (10 inches high by 13 inches wide by 16 inches long) of personal paper items to be confidentially shredded and recycled, although material can be brought in the container of choice. 
Material accepted for shredding includes: tax returns, credit card statements, old checks, medical information (no x-rays), bank statements, utility bills, computer print-outs, copy paper (all colors), envelopes, letterhead and stationary. Unacceptable material includes binders, plastics, overnight shipping envelopes, photographs, carbon paper, and non-paper items. Participants must take with them the receptacles that their documents were brought in, i.e. boxes, bags, etc. after discarding their documents for shredding.

ABOUT THE SUNHOUSE SINGERS
The Sunhouse Singers are a vocal trio that has hit New York by storm since moving to Harlem together in the summer of 2023.
Consisting of New York jazz vocalists Kate Kortum, June Cavlan, and Joie Bianco, the three have been featured on multiple performances with artists such as Bryan Carter, Charlie Rosen, Emmet Cohen, and Benny Benack III.
Their original arrangements are greatly inspired by writers and singers like Jon Hendricks, The Andrew Sisters, Gene Puerling, Cecile Mclorin Salvant, and more. Having attended the University of Miami together for their undergraduate degrees, they have been building a group sound since they became instant friends in 2019. They individually boast an impressive slate of accolades with several downbeat awards, Youngarts awards, scholarships and grants to their names.
They have racked up performances at impressive venues like Birdland, Mezzrow, The Django, and Dizzys. The Sunhouse Singers, though new, are ready to build their name in the New York jazz scene and are excited to be recording their debut album in 2024.&nbsp;

Participants will explore a visual arts technique such as collage, clay 
sculpting, or mixed media and create a unique work. Guided by an artist 
educator, attendees will learn simple methods and experiment with 
materials during the session. 
Snap Snap: Taking Just the Right Picture 
1:30-2:45 p.m., Feliciano School of Business Lawn 
This digital photography workshop will start with a presentation on the 
powerful choices available for capturing and documenting the world with 
your camera. Each participant will be given directions for taking a 
photograph from a specific location on campus. Jenelle Covino, Adjunct 
Professor of Art and Design, will guide participants to utilize basic 
photo retouching principles to bring each digital photograph to life. 
You can bring your digital camera or use your cell phone to photograph 
for this workshop. This workshop is suitable for all ages and all 
experience levels of photography. 
Drumming Up a Crowd, the West African Way 
3:00-4:15 p.m.; Feliciano School of Business Lawn 
The Montclair State University West African Drumming and Dance Ensemble 
will perform and engage everyone to participate in traditional West 
African recreational music. We play a strong weave of polyrhythms on 
traditional drums, bells and rattles, and those in attendance will drum 
with us, sing with us in call and response in a West African language, 
and dance traditional movements with us, directed by calls from the lead
 drum. 
Let’s Get Physical: Writing Poetry about Memory and the Body 
4:30-5:45 p.m. Feliciano School of Business Room 140 
In this generative poetry workshop, we will begin by bringing our 
memories to life on the page. We will then expand to writing about 
embodied experiences. Participants will leave this workshop having 
written two new poems and having received feedback on one of the poems. 
They will also leave with a few additional tools in their writers’ 
toolbox.
