Cedar Crest Artists Create Coloring Book

40-plus page coloring book features scenes of campus such as community garden and Belmont Coffee shop

Artists from Cedar Crest, an Erickson Living retirement community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, created a 40-plus page coloring book featuring lovely drawings of scenes of campus such as the community garden, Belmont Coffee Café, farmers market, billiards room, and more. On April 8, the artists unveiled the book, “Colorful Cedar Crest,” to the public at the community’s Fruits of our Labor semi-annual resident craft fair.

Resident Barbara Thoner came up with the idea for the coloring book.

“Cedar Crest is a wonderful place to watch an innovative idea grow into reality with the aid of many talented contributors,” said Thoner.

“This coloring book truly came to life after many residents and employees submitted beautiful artwork that portrays life at Cedar Crest. It is amazing to see how talented our community is and how willing these artists were to share their gifts,” said Philanthropy Manager Lauren Corrente.

All proceeds from the sales of the coloring book will benefit the Cedar Crest Resident Care Fund. Resident groups and local vendors, including Lakeland Bank, sponsored the printing cost for the 250 books.
