Cedar Crest Celebrates National Volunteer Week
More than 200 residents attend Rockin' Country Volunteer Appreciation Event

On April 9, in honor of National Volunteer Week, Cedar Crest, an Erickson Living developed and managed retirement community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, held a Rockin’ Country Volunteer Appreciation event to celebrate its more than 480 resident volunteers on campus. The festive event included a BBQ-themed lunch and entertainment by Jake’s Country Rocking Band.
"Thank you to all our residents who give back to the community through volunteerism,” said Community Resources Manager Amy Wagener. “Our wonderful and compassionate residents are what make Cedar Crest such a great place to live and work.”
In 2018, resident volunteers contributed over 30,000 hours of service on campus and at not-for-profits in the local community including Pequannock Food Bank, Emmaus for Veterans, Hillside Elementary School, local shelters, among others. Cedar Crest's 200 resident-run activity groups provide individuals the opportunity to lead or participate in a volunteer activity that aligns with their interests.
