Cedar Crest Community Steps Up at Annual Breast Cancer Walk

Raises more than $1,400 for American Cancer Society

On October 7, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cedar Crest Retirement Community hosted its 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Walk. More than 100 residents and staff adorned in pink apparel walked together on campus to promote awareness and raise money for breast cancer research. The walk raised more than $1,400 for the American Cancer Society.

The event included a ½ mile walk on campus as well as a “Pink Party Expo” with a DJ, free food, prizes, giveaways, pictures, fitness fun, vendors, and a farmer’s market.

“This is a fantastic event for our residents and staff to come together, enjoy a day of fun and exercise, and raise money for an important cause,” said Cedar Crest Fitness Specialist Tiffany Taylor.
