Cedar Crest holds 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

More than 100 residents attended the special event held outside on campus.

On Sunday evening, September 11, Cedar Crest Retirement Community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, held its annual 9/11 Remembrance ceremony. More than 100 residents attended the special event held outside on campus.

Pastoral Ministries Manager Bert Moore opened the program and recounted the events of September 11, 2001. Those in attendance sang “America the Beautiful” followed by the lighting of 2 candles and an antiphonal reading citing all of those affected by in one way or another the events of that fateful day.

Cedar Crest Chaplain Alan Bowen, Chaplain at Mountainview Gardens, the continuing care neighborhood of Cedar Crest, provided a few minutes of reflection highlighting the photos of all those from New Jersey that lost their lives that day and then led the community in prayer.
