CEDAR CREST HOLDS VETERANS DAY MEMORIAL SERVICE AND CELEBRATION

More than 200 people participated in Cedar Crest's annual Veterans Day memorial service and celebration.

More than 200 people participated in a Veterans Day memorial service and celebration at Cedar Crest, an active continuing care retirement community in Pompton Plains, N.J. on November 11.

“Veterans Day at Cedar Crest is one that makes us all proud of our veterans and provides us an opportunity to tell them in a special way, thanks for your service to our country,” said Cedar Crest Pastoral Ministries Manager Bert Moore, who spent five years in the Marine Corps as an artillery officer and 25 years in the Navy as a chaplain until 2007.

The program included a procession of veterans to patriotic music; medley of service songs; “The National Anthem” and “My Country ’Tis of Thee” by the Cedar Crest Chorale; an invocation and benediction by Cedar Crest Pastoral Ministries Manager Bert Moore; and remarks from Cedar Crest veterans. In addition, donations were collected for Emmaus for Veterans.
