Cedar Crest Hosts Lip Sync Battle

Employees of Cedar Crest, a developed and managed Erickson Living retirement community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, showed their appreciation to residents by performing their hearts out on stage. On September 27, more than 200 residents cheered on several employee bands at the Woodstock-themed Lip Sync Battle.

Employees performed songs from Woodstock and the 1960s including "With a Little Help from our Friends”, “American Pie”, “Pin Ball Wizard” and more. In addition, resident Life Manager Erica Zayat gave a live performance as Janis Joplin with Security Officer Doug Macko on guitar.

Residents voted for the best act and crowned Assistant General Manager of the Oak Room Restaurant Marty Colome as the winner for his performance of “L.O.V.E.”

The event ended with employees and residents dancing on stage and in the aisles to "I’m a Believer."

"Thank you to all our employees who participated in this entertaining event for our residents," said Executive Director Todd DeLaney. "Events like these are a wonderful way for employees and residents to come together to celebrate our community and contribute to making Cedar Crest a great place to live and work."

In 2019, Cedar Crest claimed the top spot on the NJ.com Top Workplaces list in the large company category. In addition, Cedar Crest won the “Meaningful Impact” award.
