Cedar Crest Protestant Community Donates 40 Bags of Groceries to Pequannock Food Pantry

On February 5, the Cedar Crest Protestant Community held Souper Bowl Sunday, piggybacking on the popular Super Bowl football championship. The congregation collected $385 and about 40 bags of groceries for delivery to the Pequannock Food Pantry on Monday, February 6.

Protestant Council President Elaine Thomas commented, “This was our first effort with this kind of program. We give cash donations monthly to a variety of local, national and international charities and donate regularly to the CUMAC clothing drive. We are very pleased with the response of the congregation to a local group providing a needed service.”

The Protestant Community of Cedar Crest Retirement Community is led by Reverend Dennis Rockett. Services are open to residents and the public and are held Sundays at 10 a.m. in the Cedar Crest Interfaith Chapel. Special services are also held throughout the year.
