Celebrate Dogs At Wayne's Terhune Sunnybank Park Aug. 20

Park is the estate of Albert Payson Terhune, a noted dog lover and breeder.

WAYNE, N.J. — Celebrate a local hero for dog lovers at a special gathering at Terhune Sunnybank Park Aug. 20.

The park is named after Albert Payson Terhune, a famous dog breeder. Terhune's estate is maintained as the public park. The graves of many of his dogs, including the most famous one, Lad, are there. A collection of Terhune's book and dog awards are at the Van Riper-Hopper Historic House Museum.

There will be guided tour of the park, speakers, a microchip clinic, and a coloring contest for kids.
