Cerebral Palsy Center Eyeing Another Wayne Location
The center has identified another site that is less costly and quicker to develop than the first location it had eyed.

WAYNE, NJ — The Cerebral Palsy Center of North Jersey has identified another site in town to construct a center for adults.
The center withdrew its application before the Board of Adjustment earlier this month because it found a site that will be cheaper to develop than the one off of Meadow Road and Route 23 it previously sought a use variance for, said David Bishop, the center's vice president of development and communications.
Bishop did not say where the new location is. He could not be immediately reached for additional comment.

Arlene Sullivan lives on Meadow Road and actively campaigned against the application. She said it made "no sense" for the facility to be built in her quiet neighborhood.
"Certainly there are other places in town where they could build," Sullivan previously said. "It makes no sense to build here. I can't believe that this is the only place they came up with."

Bishop said the decision to without the application was not based on Sullivan's efforts.
"We have been advocating for individuals with disabilities for 65 years and are not intimidated by neighborhood bullies engaging in fearmongering to deny space to our most vulnerable citizens," he said.
