Construction Worker Dies After Falling Off Roof In Passaic County
The Woodland Park man fell into an empty dumpster and died, authorities said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A construction worker died after falling off a roof at a construction site in Paterson Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Authorities responded to a construction site at 138 Michigan Ave. at 9:13 a.m. on a reported construction accident, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announced in a joint news release.
First responders found Joseph Perillo, 56, of Woodland Park, outside the building with serious injuries, authorities said.

An investigation determined that Perillo was working on the roof and fell off the building into an empty dumpster, authorities said.
Perillo was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

Investigators from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration were at the scene Tuesday and investigating what happened.
There is no evidence of foul play and no charges have been filed, authorities said.
