Coronavirus Cases Among 20-Somethings On The Rise In Wayne
Mayor Christopher Vergano said Wayne hasn't seen an increase in overall case numbers, but a rise in cases in this age group is "concerning."
WAYNE, NJ — Mayor Christopher Vergano delivered his monthly coronavirus update this week, citing a rise in cases, especially among residents aged 19-29.
In total, 74 coronavirus cases were reported in the township in September at an average of 2.47 new cases per day.
According to Vergano, 32 of those positive test results, or around 43 percent were from residents between the ages of 19-29. Vergano said this was the "only concerning bit of information in this news."

New Testing Location
Vergano announced a new testing location at the health department in the township, which will begin this month.
The program will be run through Atlantic Health, he said.
All that's needed to get tested is a form of identification that says you are a resident of the township. It will be free for all residents.
More information will be published in the near future, Vergano said.
In addition to the testing site, Vergano urged residents to get a flu shot saying it was more important than ever.
