Dave & Buster's Restaurant Coming To Wayne: Mayor

Restaurant and arcade chain is expected to go on the second floor of Sears in the Willowbrook Mall.

WAYNE, NJ — Dave & Buster's, the combination bar, restaurant, and arcade for adults is coming to North Jersey.

Dave & Buster's is finally coming over the border to New Jersey thanks to a change in state law allowing alcohol to be sold where amusement games are played. The closest Dave and Buster's is in New York, just over the state line, in West Nyack at the Palisades Center mall.

Mayor Chris Vergano announced at a Town Council meeting Wednesday that Dave & Buster's would be locate on the second floor of Sears in the Willowbrook Mall. The establishment would have an outdoor entrance outside of Sears' lower level.

Wayne officials were supportive of the idea when state legislators introduced a bill changing the state law so Dave & Buster's could come to the Garden State.

The move is due to a change in a 1959 law banning the sale of alcohol where games of "skill or chance" at facilities that had more than 100 games and were 20,000 square feet or more in area.
