Wayne House Uninhabitable After Friday Fire
Firefighters from all 5 fire companies and neighboring towns responded to the MacDonald Drive home, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — Firefighters from all five township fire companies, along with others from neighboring towns, battled a fire at 194 MacDonald Drive home for hours Friday afternoon, police said.
Police received the initial report that there was a fire at the single-family house at 12:21 p.m., said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.
Wayne Fire Commission John Wozinak told NorthJersey.com that the initial report said explosions could be heard.

The fire appears to have started in the back of the house on a deck and spread to the house, Wozinak said. An exact cause has not yet been determined.
Firefighters helped get the homeowner, who was at the front door when they arrived, off of the property.

Firefighters battled the blaze for more than two hours, Wozinak said.
The house is uninhabitable, Wozinak said in the report.
