The arrest happened on Wednesday at 4 p.m. when Wayne police were conducting a safety and security check of the commercial properties along Route 46 east, specifically room number 320, at The Kings Inn, police said.

Police noticed an occupied vehicle with littered debris next to the driver’s door open window. After talking to the driver, Larry Pulliam, an odor of marijuana was detected, police said.

Police also discovered that he was not in possession of any valid driver’s license and had an open warrant for his arrest issued by Lyndhurst Municipal Court for $740.00.

A search incident to this arrest revealed one partially smoked marijuana cigarette and 250 glassine bags of suspected heroin stamped “king of Death” in red ink.

Pulliam was arrested and transported to Wayne Police Headquarters for processing on the criminal charges. In accordance with the bail reform act, Pulliam was released on a summons complaint for the possession of narcotics, Lyndhurst released the suspect with another court date.
