Market Opening Soon At Former Wayne A&P Site

The MRKT Square replaces the A&P, which closed in 2016 after the longtime North Jersey company filed for bankruptcy.

WAYNE, NJ — A new market will open at the former A&P location on Valley Road soon.

According to a banner hung on the outside of the building, The MRKT Square will open in the Valley Ridge Shopping Center soon.

A&P closed after the longtime North Jersey company filed for bankruptcy in 2015 and sold or closed down its stores.

The Wayne Natural Food Market was slated to open at the location, but never did. That market was supposed to sell organic produce and have a bakery and sell fresh seafood.
