Men Arrested After Police Find Cocaine, Pills During Traffic Stop: Authorities

Nicholas Yacullo, 48, and Michael Yacullo, 24, were charged after police stopped them for not wearing seatbelts, authorities said.

WAYNE, NJ — Two men were arrested after police found methadone pills, cocaine and marijuana in their vehicle Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Officer Adrian Sulejmani stopped a 1995 Dodge pickup truck at QuickChek on Hamburg Turnpike because the men inside were not wearing seatbelts, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.

During a search of the vehicle police found 45 methadone pills, two bags containing containing cocaine and a marijuana cigarette, Martin said.

Both the men had active warrants out for their arrests and suspended driver's licenses, the captain said.

Nicholas V. Yacullo, 48, the driver, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with other driving-related infractions, Martin said; he was later released.

Michael V. Yacullo, 24, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle, Martin said; he was taken to the Passaic County Jail for detention.

Both men are from Hamburg.
