Christian Health Center Buys Wayne Senior Apartment Complex

The Summer Hill housing complex is the second Wayne property the center has purchased. The center purchased Sienna Village in 2015.

WAYNE, NJ — A township independent-senior complex has been purchased by Christian Health Care Center, a senior-life, mental-health and short-term rehabiliation facility based in Wyckoff.

The center announced its acquisition Monday afternoon of the Summer Hill apartments, a 164-unit facility. CHCC runs an 80-acre, senior-life, short-term rehabilitation, housing and mental health care facility in Wyckoff and Hawthorne.

Summer Hill is a 164-unit independent senior housing complex for people 55 and older. The complex opened in 1998 and features 140 one-bedroom and 24 two-bedroom affordably-priced units in two buildings.

"We welcome Summer Hill as a Christian Health Care Center community, and look forward to supporting the residents as it continues to be their home," said Douglas A. Struyk, CCHC's president and CEO. "Summer Hill is a wonderful residence that offers a tremendous quality of life. This addition to our senior-life residences will greatly expand CHCC's ability to offer more affordable-living options."

CCHC purchased Sienna Village, a 250-apartment complex on Valley Road for senior citizens in 2015. The organization also has Hillcrest Residence, The Longview Assisted Living Residence, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, southgate behavior-management unit, Christian Health Care Adult Day Services and Counseling Center, Ramapo Ridge Psychiatric Hospital and a partial hospitalization program at Ramapo Ridge.

“Christian Health Care Center’s impact in Siena Village has been wonderful for the residents and the township," said Mayor Chris Vergano. "We welcome their growth in Wayne with the addition of Summer Hill to their senior-living residences."
