Months-Long Investigation Leads To Marijuana Bust Near Wayne Elementary School: Police
Nelphy Peralta, 18, was charged with distribution after police searched home near Ryerson Elementary School.
A Wayne teeanger was charged with possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school after police executed a search warrant on a Vincent Place home last week, police said.
Police executed search warrants at 162 Vincent St. Oct. 1 after conducting a months-long investigation into allegations of narcotics distribution at the rental property, said Capt. Laurence Martin. Police began the investigation after receiving several complaints from residents.
Police found marijuana, a digital scale, and packaging materials in the house, Martin said.

Nelphy Peralta, 18 of Wayne, and Andrew Ortiz, 24 of Connisville, Pennsylvania, were arrested after authorities searched the house; other people were at the house but have not been charged, authorities said.
Peralta lives at the house, police said. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of school property, and distribution of controlled dangerous substances, Martin said. Ortiz was charged with possession of marijuana.

Both men were processed and released on summons complaints pending future court dates.
