NJ Transit Cross Honoring Tickets Thursday Due To Storm
NJ Transit expected to operate regular service on its bus, light rail and rail lines, but that could change depending on the weather.
NJ Transit is expected to operate regular service on its bus, light rail and rail lines Thursday, but will cross honor on all lines in light of the winter storm that is forecast to cover North Jersey with 6 to 12 inches of snow.
Regular service on all lines will operate as long as conditions allow, NJ Transit said.
The heavily-used 196 and 197 bus lines will begin and end at the West Milford Park and Ride.

NJ Transit implemented several winter weather preparations this fall in order to better handle adverse winter weather.
The thermostats and heating and ventilation systems on rail cars and buses have been checked two jet-engine-powered snow blowers are available to remove snow and ice from tracks and switching areas. All locomotives are equipped with snowplows to help clear snow from rails.

In addition, engine fluids, windshield wipers, and door and airbrake systems have been checked on NJ Transit's fleet of 2,200 buses.
Snowplows are ready to clear light rail station platforms and park-and-ride parking lots.
Heaters and public address systems at rail stations were recently inspected and are working properly.

NJ Transit's Access Link is cancelling all trips from 3 to 5 a.m. and transfer trips will be cancelled throughout the day.
