NJ Worker Crushed By Construction Lift In ‘Tragic Accident'
A large construction lift toppled on its side, crushing the worker and resulting in fatal injuries, police said.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A construction worker in Passaic County is dead after being crushed by a large lift that had fallen, according to police.
On Monday, around 11:15 a.m., authorities were called to the intersection of Main Avenue and Homer Street in Clifton on reports of an accident.
Officials found that a worker, whose identity has not been released at this time, had been under a large construction lift when it fell on its side, resulting in fatal injuries, police said.

Witnesses told News 12 New Jersey that the lift was being removed from a flatbed truck when it toppled over onto the worker.
Clifton first responders, as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation, investigated the scene.

Authorities are calling the incident a “tragic accident.”
The incident came hours after a tractor-trailer slammed into a Clifton business just a few miles away, resulting in the driver being hospitalized.
