North Jersey Prostitution Sweep Results In 15 Arrests

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Undercover detectives arrested 15 women in New Jersey Thursday for soliciting prostitution during a quality of life operation, authorities said.

The Passaic County Sheriff's Office initiated the operation after several people complained to authorities about prostitution, said Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik.

For four hours Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., detectives arrested the 15 women, many of whom had outstanding warrants from various municipalities, Berdnik said. The detail targeted the area of Market Street from East 22nd Street to East 31st Street and Van Houten Street from East 18th Street to Straight Street.

The women arrested were:

• Erin Micco, 26, Paterson
• Madeline Hughes, 48, Paterson
• Anna Dembitsky, 28, East Orange
• Jennifer Green, 28, Hawthorne
• Samantha Zacaro, 27, Fairfield
• Amanda Gianfrancesco, 37, Wanaque
• Theresa Taylor, 48, Hackensack
• Amanda Tintle, 29, Paterson
• Christina May, 34, Jersey City
• Samantha Prior, 25, Paterson
• Dontay E. Booker, 27, Paterson
• Sarah Davis, 38, Paterson
• Aretha Fowler, 39, Paterson

Members of the Human Trafficking Unit from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and a drug intervention specialist, were available to assist the women, Berdnik said.
