North Jerseyans To Rally Against Trump's Controversial Policies In Wayne Thursday

Dump Trump protesters are slated to speak out against the presumptive Republican nominee's policies on immigration and climate change.

WAYNE, N.J. — A coalition of grassroots organizations is teaming up to hold protests Thursday — the last day of the Republican National Convention — against the party’s presumptive nominee, Donald J. Trump, including one in North Jersey.

A Dump Trump protest will be held at the Packanack Wayne Shopping Center at 1484 Route 23 North in Wayne at 4 p.m.

‘If he wins in November, Trump would be a disaster for our country and the climate,” said Stewart Resmer, protest’s organizer and a registered Independent voter. “His agenda is unacceptable and we must oppose it.”

That agenda includes a number of controversial proposed policy changes and initiatives, including building a Mexican border wall, banning Muslims from countries with heavy terrorist activity from entering the United States, abolishing the Environmental Protection Agency, and getting rid of regulations aimed at curbing pollution and emissions of greenhouse gases.

A number of national organizations, including NextGen Climate, United We Dream Action, and People’s Action, are sponsoring the protest.

“He clearly has no grasp of the constitutional limits of the office he covets, and knows no limits to his demagoguery in his quest to attain it,” Resmer. “He campaigns in ill-advised fits and knows no moderation of his acerbic half-truths and outright misrepresentation of the facts of any given matter that pops in to his head with total disregard for the consequences of his remarks.”
