Opinion: Impeach Christie Now
It really is time to 'give it back' after long train of abuses called Bridgegate by drawing up the articles for impeachment, a reader says.

To The Editor:
After a week of admittedly, not entirely unexpected, opening remarks by federal prosecutors as well as defense attorneys in the matter commonly referred to as Bridgegate, versus the here to for version of the events according to Governor Christie, there exists reasonable grounds to begin impeachment proceedings against the Governor leading to and including his forcible removal from office for cause.
While some argue that there is probably not enough evidence to indict the governor in federal proceedings, impeachment proceedings is a quite different threshold, the question does stubbornly remain and that is, is the governor actually 'John Doe', the unindicted, co-conspirator whose lawyers have successfully waged a legal campaign to keep the true and correct identity of John Doe secret up until now?

I say up until now, because the trial judge did in fact rule that the releasing of the individual's name was proper, John Doe's lawyers garnered a temporary victory on appeal that kept the identity of 'John Doe' from being revealed, at least until such time as during the court proceedings the defendants constitutional rights to due process were protected. And that time is quickly at hand.
In the Declaration of Independence there is enumerated there example after example of grievances against an individual oft referred to as He, and most memorable the phrase "after a long train of abuses." How long I do ponder is the train of abuses both known and unknown that this He too has visited upon the People of New Jersey, He has impugned teachers, He has maligned public workers, and He has even bullied veterans alike time and again He has dismissed others with a scoff and denigrating brush of his hand, as He calls it the 'Jersey Way'.

There is yet another colloquialism that I have come to know in New Jersey, and that is 'give it back to him'. Ordinarily I do not abide by 'giving it back' because like a cold or some other communicable disease passing it on and then back again is not a cure. In situations of inter personal conflicts 'giving back' to someone only leads to more conflict, animosity, and discord where nothing gets resolved.
But this time is truly different, it really is time to 'give it back' after long train of abuses called Bridgegate by drawing up the articles for impeachment against this governor post haste and without further delay.
