Outlaws Leaving Town After One Season
Hockey team moving to Pennsylvania. Team is a member of the Federal Hockey League, a Class-A professional league. Franchise won the league championship earlier this year.

The Outlaws have left Wayne.
The franchise announced via its Web site earlier this week that it has moved to Williamsport, Pa. The franchise is a member of the six-team Federal Hockey League, a Class-A professional hockey league.
The team played home games at on Nevins Road. The facility hosts hockey leagues, clinics, and recreational activities for children and adults.

“They were looking for a bigger venue. We could only seat about 600 people for a home game and I think they wanted more people,” said Mariann Reiss, manager of the Ice Vault. “It was nice to have them. We got revenue from them and from people going to the restaurant.”

“This is an upper-middle class neighborhood and I think that a lot of people from this area don’t understand what this hockey league is all about,” Reiss said.
Economics could have also played a factor in the team’s decision.
Tickets for Outlaws games cost about $14. Tickets to see the New Jersey Devils can cost as little as $20.
“This is an exciting venture for myself and my organization to bring our franchise to such a special community as well as for the fans of Williamsport and the northern central Pennsylvania region,” team owner Kristin Rooney said in a statement.
Mayor Chris Vergano did not respond to a request for comment.
