Paris Inn Property Sold For $990K At Auction

Breaking: The property was originally listed for $3.3 million.

WAYNE, NJ — The former Paris Inn restaurant property sold for $990,000 at auction Wednesday.

A family-owned restaurant company from New York placed the winning bid for the 2-acre property at 1292 Alps Road, said Max Spann, the owner of a real estate and auction company that bears his name. Spann's company ran the auction.

Spann said the 20-year-old company is owned by "well-established" restaurateurs. The owners wished to remain anonymous.

"They plan on turning the facility into another restaurant and banquet-style place," Spann said.

The property features the 17,000-square-foot restaurant, which can accomodate 400 customers, furniture, and kitchen equipment. The lot, an adjacent parcel of land with a separate subdivision, and a liquor license, was originally listed for $3.3 million in April 2017. The price was reduced to $2.9 million that July.

The Paris Inn abruptly closed on March 12, 2017 after being in business for more than 40 years. Owner Antonio Petritsis previously told News 12 that it was a "personal decision" to close the Alps Road establishment and that he has appreciated all the customers the business has served. The two-story establishment hosted weddings, baby showers, corporate events, and was a popular spot for Sunday brunch.

The property was under contract with a buyer and was slated to be sold in December, according to NorthJersey.com.
