Pascack Valley District Holding Virtual Make-Up Snow Day
The virtual day is Friday, April 6, during the district's spring break. Teachers will be in schools and facilities will be open.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County high school district has found a creative way to make up a snow day.
The Pascack Valley Regional High School District needs to make up the day in order to hold 180 school days this academic year as required by the state.
This day will be made up virtually, online, on Friday, April 6 during the district's weeklong spring break.

Students will have the option to attend their lessons either from home or school. The day will count toward the state-mandated total of 180 because teachers will be in school and the buildings open.
“This solution is a creative and productive way to address the scheduling challenge this stormy season has created,” Superintendent Erik Gundersen wrote in a letter to parents and students Wednesday, which saw another nor'easter blanket New Jersey with several inches of snow. The district, which has two high schools, serves more than 2,000 students from Hillsdale, River Vale, Woodcliff Lake, and Montvale.
If more inclement weather forces the district to close school further, days will be made up during Spring Break week, as virtual days, in reverse order.
Specific information on the virtual day will be issued next week, Gundersen said.
