After a shutout loss in their opener, the Indians showed a more balanced offense and strong defense, and now turn their focus to hosting Old Tappan on Thursday in another key early-season test. 
• Fall Tours Begin at Laurelwood Arboretum (tapinto.net) — Free guided cart and walking tours are coming to Laurelwood Arboretum in Wayne on Saturday, September 12 and Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 a.m. Residents can simply show up at the Knippenberg Center entrance patio, with no registration needed, to explore late-summer blooms, unique trees, and sculptures in this 30-acre township-partnered park.
• Seatmate of duct-taped plane passenger reveals what sparked meltdown (amedpost.com) — A Newark-bound flight disturbance has a local connection, as the passenger who was attacked and later helped restrain a disruptive seatmate is Jonathan Cahn, leader of Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne. Cahn says a conversation about religion and the cover of his latest book preceded the man's outburst, which forced an emergency landing and led to criminal charges.
