Pequannock River Near Wayne At 'Minor' Flood Stage, Pompton Is At 'Action' Stage

The thunderstorm last night has caused the Pequannock River near Wayne to rise to ’minor’ flood stage Thursday morning, the National Weather Service.

The river, which is a tributary of the Passaic River, was at 5.55 feet high in Macopin at 9:30 a.m., with minor flooding occurring. The river is forecast to crest at 5.8 feet high.

The river was at ”action” stage at 10.5 feet high in Pompton Lakes and 14 feet high in Pompton Plains as of 8:45 a.m. The river is forecast to crest at slightly more than 10.5 feet and 14.5 feet high.
