Protestant Easter Service to Project the Joy of the Season

Service at 10 am in the Interfaith Chapel

Easter is the most jubilant day in the Christian calendar, and the Cedar Crest Protestant service will reflect the triumphant joy of the resurrection through special music planned by Music Director George Swope and in Pastor Rockett’s Easter homily titled “What Earthshaking News, we are an Easter People!”

The glorious hymns of the Easter season will be accompanied by Cedar Crest’s own organist, George Swope on the 3 manual Allen Organ and by guest ensemble “Clarity Brass,” which consists of trumpets, French horn, and trombones.

The Choir will perform John Stainer’s God So Loved the World as well as an original hymn commissioned specifically to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Cedar Crest Protestant Community, Praise the Lord Who Reigns Above composed by Deborah Holden-Holloway.

A musical highlight of the service is the tradition of Choir, Congregation, and Guests from the Cedar Crest Community singing George Frederic Handel's Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah with organ and brass.
