Robbers Busted In Wayne After School Lockdown, Foot Chase
Wayne Police said 2 men were quickly apprehended.

WAYNE, NJ — Two burglars were taken into custody Friday after they reportedly burglarized a home and fled, police said.
A neighbor witnessed a suspicious vehicle on Sherwood Street at 11:55 a.m. and called police, said Capt. Jack McNiff.
Detective Michael Polifrone saw the vehicle and stopped it on MacDonald Drive a few minutes later, McNiff said. The vehicle had proceeds from the burglary inside it and the driver was arrested, he said.

The second suspect was found with help from the Passaic County Sheriff's Department.

McNiff said because it is still "very early in the investigation," the suspects' names would not be released.
As a precaution, a shelter in place was put into effect at DePaul Catholic and other area schools as a precaution until the second suspect was taken into custody, McNiff said.
"There was never really any threat to any school during the investigation," McNiff said.
