Star Wide Receiver Evidence Njoku To Transfer To Wayne Hills, Reports Say

Njoku has scholarship offers from more than a dozen Division I colleges.

WAYNE, N.J. — Star wide receiver Evidence Njoku is transferring from Cedar Grove to Wayne Hills and could begin working out with the school's football team later this month, according to published reports.

Njoku, an incoming senior, told The Record he was in the process of transferring to the North Jersey football powerhouse and his profile on rivals.com listed his school as Wayne Hills.

Njoku, a 6-4, 195-pound Njoku told The Record that he recently moved from Cedar Grove to Wayne. He told The Record he was "extremely excited to start" his senior season with the Patriots.

Wayne Hills coach Wayne Demikoff declined to comment Tuesday. He said in an email that the school had not informed him of "any transfer student."

Njoku's move to the Patriots is expected to make them one of North Jersey's elite teams this season, according to The Record.

Njoku has scholarship offers from about a dozen Division I football programs, including Rutgers, Tennessee, and Rutgers. ESPN and rivals.com have him listed as a three-star recruit. ESPN has him ranked as the 10th best wide receiver in the state and the 72nd-best nationally.
