Third Person Dies In String Of Shootings Sunday In Paterson: Officials
Officials said a 22-year-old woman has died after being injured in a shooting Sunday night, the third fatality in Paterson from that day.
PATERSON, NJ — Officials said a 22-year-old woman has died from her injuries after being shot, marking the third fatal shooting that occurred in Paterson on Sunday.
Police responded to the sound of gunshots in the area of Van Houten Street and Cianci Street at 9:22 p.m. that day, and found Paterson resident Mary Taylor wounded. First responders took her to St. Joseph's University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on Monday.
Officials said late Monday that the investigation is active and ongoing, and they are not releasing any further information at this time.

Taylor is the only of the three victims that Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes' office has identified as of Tuesday afternoon. Two 19-year-old men also died Sunday in separate shootings, officials said: The first shooting was reported at 6:36 a.m. on Oct. 1 near the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street, and the second was reported in the area of Highland Street and Park Place at 12:26 p.m.
